As one of the most important cultural and social manifestations, poetry can reflect society’s values, beliefs, and even its problems. Although the primary mission of ‘Vaqui’ poetry, which became popular in Iran in the early 10th century AH, was to express the realities of romantic relationships, these relationships were shaped by social conditions and issues. Therefore, themes such as poverty, oppression, inequality, and social dissatisfaction, along with shared beliefs and values, are reflected in this type of poetry, making it an essential source for social analysis and a precise understanding of Iranian society during the Safavid period. This research examines and explains the social themes in the ghazals of two prominent poets of the ‘Vaqui’ school, Mohtasham Kashani and Lesani Shirazi. The present study used a descriptive-analytical approach, and data were collected by reading documents and consulting library sources. According to the findings of the current study, the most significant social themes in the ghazals of both poets include superstition and popular beliefs such as the belief in the evil eye and the influence of celestial bodies on human destiny, the prevalence of male beloveds in society, and social inequalities, which are expressed amidst the romantic poems
